Now this is a wedding theme we haven’t seen yet and we are loving it! Navy blue, red and gold make a gorgeous color scheme for this Hawaii destination wedding in Maui and the traditional tea ceremony. Check out these sparkling Jimmy Choo wedding high heals placed along an amazing piece of 3D artwork of the Hawaiian Islands.
A fun part of some weddings can be “Door Games,” which have become popular in Asian countries as well as in America. The bridesmaids start off by hiding the bride as the groom and groomsmen are tasked with accomplishing cute little challenges like dressing up, performing and song or dance, or in this case, making a little romantic statement out of bread slices. These door games are a fun way to lead up to a first look and are sure to lighten the mood and shake off some of those nerves before the wedding ceremony.
How stunning is this red traditional wedding dress with green details and flower embroidery. The tea pot and tea cups were also a vibrant shade of red. The groom wore a navy blue suit with a blue and grey striped necktie. The bridesmaids wore strapless navy blue dresses while the groomsmen wore grey suits.
At the hill top wedding ceremony over looking the ocean, guest we treated to these sparkly gold and navy blue personalized fans with the couple’s name and wedding date. The navy blue background was accented with the stars and constellation motif creating an “Under the Stars” theme. The aisle seats were adorned with small bouquets of white flowers. The ring bearer held a raw cut wood piece that was personalized. The ceremony venue greeted guests with a wood framed chalk sandwich board.
This picture perfect Hawaii destination wedding was expertly planned and coordinated by Cherise at The Perfect Wedding Maui. The wedding reception under the stars was capped off with dancing and a multi-tiered wedding cake featuring lots of yummy buttercream frosted cupcakes and a round top tier cake. The cake topper was a pennant flag with the wedding date and hearts. The cupcakes we accented with flags of China and the USA to celebrate the combining of two cultures and families.
Some say that good shoes take you to good places, so it’s fair to say that our bride’s amazing Christian Louboutin shoes took her amazing places. Take a look for yourself!
I don’t even have words for how stunning this satin sheath dress is with scalloped lace border and buttons down the back. The shear material of the front creates an illusion of the lace bodice floating on its own without any straps. So delicate and sexy. The bride had her hair and make-up done in a suite in the historic Sheraton Moana Surfrider Hotel in Waikiki. The groom and his groomsmen toasted their silver flasks while enjoying their gifts of black sunglasses. The groom and groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos with black satin bow ties. The jacket lapels donned white calla lily boutonnieres while the bride held a bouquet of white calla lilies with a black satin ribbon.
The Waikiki ceremony venue was set up in all white with an arch and two pillars decorated with floral designs. The center aisle featured a damask style design of white orchids. This scenic venue looks out towards Waikiki beach with views of Diamond head to the side and the setting sun in the evenings.
The Moana Surfrider’s front porch has 10 classic wood rocking chairs that are incredibly relaxing to sit and watch the bustling Waikiki Kalakaua strip from.
This destination wedding reception was held in the Moana Surfrider as well. The room was set with five long tables with white linen table cloths accented by black lace runners. Clear glass vases of various sizes held candles and flowers as the centerpieces. The wedding cake was a three tier round cake in all white with piping in a lace design. The personalized cake topper was in black featuring the new Mr & Mrs last name and a heart with their wedding date. The reception incorporated the black and blue wedding color scheme in the blue up-lighting and black chalkboard signs.
We are so happy for this sweet couple and glad they had a wonderful wedding in Hawaii with their closest family and friends. See more Hawaii wedding photos, videos, engagement sessions, family portrait sessions, and maternity/pregnancy photos by following us on Facebook and Instagram!
This wedding has too much gorgeousness to show but we wanted to start off with the wedding video from this recent Turtle Bay resort wedding with photography and video by our team here at L’Amour. Take a look at the video then please come back to this page to see some of the highlight photos too! CLICK the play button on the below video!
Stunning location, beaming bride and groom, lovely lavender and cream details all with a colorful sunset and beachfront reception under a clear tent with sparkling chandeliers! the bride wore a pale blush or pink colored wedding dress with a satin sash and sweatheart neckline accented by a veil with bead trim and pearl jewelry. Did we mention those cream colored Badgley Mischka wedding shoes with crystal detailing on the back! The groom wore a light gray suit with a pale lavender or purple paisley tie and pocket square.
The cute little flower girls wore tulle dresses with shades of purple and helped carry this sign announcing “Here comes the love of your life” as the bride and her father prepared to walk down the isle of the Turtle Bay Resort Pavillion Chapel . From this beautiful open air wedding ceremony chapel you can hear the waves crashing on the rocks, spot surfers out on the waves, and witness one of the best views of sunsets on Oahu that you will find! It’s no wonder why this is a popular location for Hawaii weddings and one of our favorite venues for our Hawaii wedding photography and video team.
A few days after this absolutely stunning destination wedding on Oahu we did a “Post wedding photo session” or “Trash the Dress” session on the North Shore of Oahu. These are really great opportunities to get more wedding portraits at various locations and under much less stress and hustle that happens on the day of the wedding ceremony and reception. Our cute couple was able to get more wedding photos with the ability to sit and walk along the sand and get some photos with extra cute touches like the surf board. We hope you have liked these wedding photos and video as much as our photography and video team did capturing these moments! We seriously have the sweetest couples!
We will leave you with this cute photo of the bride and broom walking off down the beach with their footsteps in the sand. We think this couple’s wedding really shows the benefit of having wedding photography and video done on the wedding day. Take a look at our “Prices” page to see our Hawaii wedding photography packages which vary by however many hours and services fit into your wedding timeline. You can also view our video packages which you can acquire separately or individually, no need to pair services. You can mix and match photography and/or video packages based on what makes sense with your wedding timeline. Our couples have expressed how much they love our flexibility and how it has made their wedding planning easier and wedding day smoother by working with our wedding team as we offer both Photography and Videography under one cohesive team. Feel free to contact us with any questions! Please check out our Facebook page and Instagram to see more Hawaii wedding photography and videos!
We love capturing all of the little details that the bride and groom excitedly chose in the months leading up to their wedding. The perfect shoes to dance the night away. Gorgeous wedding bouquet with colors and textures that add to the overall look of the bride, bridesmaids, groom, groomsmen and centerpieces! The right amount of sparkly and sentimental jewelry to make the bride feel and look as special as she should on her wedding day. The wedding rings are always a fun item to photograph as they are so personal and will be with the couple for the rest of their lives as the symbol of their commitment to marriage. We can’t forget special moments like the one below of the cute little flower girl covering her eyes as the bride and groom had their first kiss during their ceremony at the Crystal Chapel in Koolina!
We suggest to our couples an engagement session if possible a few months before their big day. This gives the couples beautiful photos to include on their wedding website or on their save the dates! Aside from those great reasons, it give the future bride and groom an opportunity to test out how they feel in front of the camera and gives our photography team the ability to work with the couple before the wedding day. It is always great if the couple is already familiar with and comfortable with the Hawaii wedding photography and video team by the time the big day comes! It’s not everyday that two people are followed around by so many photographers and videographers, so this little “practice session” can really help with the jitters. We also can add-on a portrait session to any wedding package for an after wedding or “trash the dress” session. This can be great for couples who have a tight timeline on the wedding day and want more photos. An after wedding session can also be great because the stress and rush of the wedding day has passed and the bride and groom can really be themselves with no one waiting on them and no schedule to adhere to or aunties and uncles grabbing them for hugs all night long!
Our Photography and Video team focuses on weddings the majority of the year, but when we get a chance we like to photograph engaged couples visiting Hawaii for engagement session, or families who want to capture memories of their special trip to Hawaii. We are always excited to watch our couples grow from fiances to bride and groom and eventually contact us for maternity sessions and family. We hope you enjoyed these photos! If you’d like to see more please check out our Facebook, Instagram, and YELP pages!
We want to say a big mahalo, or “Thank You,” to all of our amazing couples from 2015. As you can probably see, we have had a very busy ear and wanted to end it with a bang. Here are some highlights from some of our weddings of the year. There are just too many too share in one blog, so we will be posting a few blogs as well as posting to our Facebook and Instagram!
These lovely wedding took place at some of our favorite wedding venues on Oahu including Turtle Bay Resort, Haiku Gardens, Kualoa Ranch, Moana Surfrider, Lanikuhonua and Hilton Hawaiian Village chapel! We also had a chance to travel to the other Hawaiian islands for gorgeous weddings at the St Regis in Kauai and Olowalu Plantation on Maui.
This year has been jam packed with sweet couples, giddy engagement sessions, blue skies and warm breezes. We could no have asked for a better set of couples to spend it with. We are officially heading into our eighth year as Hawaii wedding photographers and can’t wait to see what the next year brings and meet our new bride and grooms! Stay tuned for many more highlights to come and follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
I can’t even put into words how sweet this couple is. The couple came together in the hallway of their Oahu wedding venue to share their love letters before the ceremony. There was no peeking during this time, but the bride and groom held hands the whole time, shed tears and laughter, and took the last few moments together before they made that walk down the aisle to make it official! Stay posted for more to come from this beachfront wedding on Oahu.
This wedding season is keeping us very busy and on our toes. However, there are SO many Hawaii wedding photos that we just have to share with you all! Here is a recent wedding portrait L’Amour Photography and Video’s team photographed on the island of Maui. This wonderfully sweet bride and groom were married at the Maui wedding venue at Olowalu Plantation House.
Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore of Oahu is definitely one of our favorite Oahu wedding venues! This sunset wedding photo was take after this bride and groom’s wedding on the Kuilima Point lawn. Turtle Bay Resort has also recently renovated their rooms, has a wonderful spa that is perfect for his and her massages, luxurious villas perfect for honeymooners, and pool with a twisting slide for those who love to live in the fast lane! We cant wait to share more of our Oahu wedding photos from this North Shore wedding venue.
We are very happy to share with you one of our recent Hawaii wedding videos from a wonderful wedding on Oahu. This lovely bride and groom from the land down under, Australia, were married in an outdoor ceremony on the Halekulani Hotel Hau Terrace overlooking Waikiki Beach. The warm blue ocean and the iconic Diamond Head made a stunning backdrop for this Hawaii wedding ceremony. To top the gorgeous views, the ceremony trellis was adorned with hanging crystal strands and hanging glass vases with white orchids. So romantic!
With out further adieu, here it is!
If you were feeling inspired by this wedding video and your wedding planning wheels are turning in your head, we have shared some of the Hawaii wedding details that helped make this wedding so wonderful, well you know, aside from the sweet bride and groom and all of their loved ones!
The bride wore a full and layered wedding gown by Maggie Sottero Haute Couture with a crystal covered hair piece to accent her side up do. The Oahu wedding venue where the ceremony and reception occurred was the Halekulani. The bridal party also got prepared for the big day with hair and makeup in one of the suites in the hotel. This Waikiki hotel has been in business for over a decade and has superb service, not to mention some of the best food and desserts we have tasted at any wedding in Hawaii. That is saying a lot! The wedding reception featured crystal candle holders with tea lights for a romantic feel and a centerpiece of orange orchids. Hawaii wedding DJ Tony So got the party started while Australian wedding planners from Wedding Destinationskept the whole wedding day running smoothly!
We hope you enjoyed this video as much as our team at L’amour Photography and Video enjoyed photographing and filming it! Stay tuned for a blog of the wedding photography highlights. Mahalo!
When we think of a fairy tale wedding in Hawaii, this image definitely comes to mind. Our recent bride wore a gorgeous wedding dress with a full flowy ballgown type skirt. We chose this location with lush greenery and a thick bamboo forest for the newly married couple’s Day After Session aka Trash the Dress Session. But, don’t worry, that’s just a name, that dress was not damaged! We really are loving the lighting of this photo. The bride seems to be glowing among the darkness of the bamboo. The bride’s floral headpiece also really adds to the ethereal and fairy tale feeling of this photo. By the way, Pocket Wizard Photo Accessories is holding a contest and this photo is in the running! We are totally loving this wedding photo from a recent Hawaii wedding we photographed here on Oahu. The bride was absolutely stunning in her wedding dress with the most dazzling collar. Not only did this empire dress stun from the from but also from the back. Stay tuned to L’Amour’s Hawaii Wedding Photography and Video blog for more highlights from this wedding!
We are happy to share part 2 of these Kauai wedding photos! Click here to see part 1 of this Hawaii wedding photography blog post. In our first post of this wedding we showed some of our favorite photos from this lovely bride and groom’s wedding rehearsal sunset dinner cruise of the Napali coast and all of the wedding preparations on the morning of this Hawaii destination wedding in Kauai.
The bridesmaids wore a light green knee length dress accented with a coral colored sash giving their look a classy yet tropical twist. The flower girls walked down the aisle holding poms of green orchids on a white satin string. This Hawaii wedding ceremony took place under the large trees on the edge of the beach fronting the St Regis. Lei of tropical flowers and crystal strands hung from the tree branches as the happy bride and groom exchanged vows beneath at the Kamani Cove.
Right after the beachfront wedding ceremony, we went around the gorgeous grounds of the St Regis to photograph the bride and grooms wedding portraits. We were struck by the many stunning locations and really loved the sparkling glass bulb chandelier of the lobby as well as the graphic decor in the front of the main entrance to this amazing resort.
Sunset was absolutely stunning on this Hawaii wedding day. The sun rays perfectly caught on the mountains across Hanalei Bay.
This Hawaii wedding reception was held in the St Regis Bay Terrace overlooking the sun setting over Hanalei Bay. This Hawaii wedding venue features a relaxing lounge area with an attached ballroom giving this venue indoor and outdoor versatility. The wedding reception carried the same classic beach theme with warm gold up-lighting sand filled centerpieces with large shells holding the tropical green and white flowers.
This beautiful bride changed into a knee length sparkling gold dress for her wedding reception. This dress was prefect for busting a move for their choreographed first dance. Not only was this bride and groom super sweet, but they also knew how to have a good time and let loose! Any bride who breaks out into doing the robot during her own wedding is a bride after my own heart!
Here we are with the gorgeous couple! We are extremely lucky and blessed to have such amazing people as our clients. After 5 years in business, based on Oahu, we continue to be amazed at how we always get to photograph such wonderful couples. Thanks for being AMAZING, everyone! Ps: As a side note, you might notice that we have changed our watermarking of photos recently. Don’t worry! We only are putting these watermarks on our blog posts. Our clients receive their printable, full size photos, free from any watermarks on their CD and with a much much less obtrusive watermark on their smaller, web-sized set of photos. Finally, we wanted to mention that Wendy (shown above with Eric) is only able to photograph weddings every once in a while when her carpal tunnel problems allow, and this was one of those rare occasions! She spends most of her days editing all of the Hawaii wedding photos and working on the flush-mount wedding album designs! Our absolutely talented L’amour team members photograph and film all of the rest of the weddings, day in and day out, through the years.

With Mother’s day just around the corner, we wanted to say a big Happy Mother’s Day from all of us on the L’amour Photography & Video team. From our family to yours, have a wonderful day and remember to let your mothers know that they rock!
This mother and son dance photo was taken at a gorgeous wedding we photographed on Maui. We absolutely loved how fun this mother was and how she was seriously rocking out. This groom and his mother should definitely win some kind of award for best mother-son dance song selection with their choice of Guns & Roses “Sweet Child of Mine.” We hope you all have a great Mother’s Day!
Trash the dress photos are definitely a favorite of ours. These post wedding photo sessions are more relaxing and with limitless possibilities compared to wedding portraits during the hustle and bustle of the big day. We also love trash the dress sessions because we get to travel to fun locations, like this beautiful spot out on the sandbar on Oahu. We get a chance to really hang out with our couples and have a good time getting creative and letting them be themselves on camera. This couple was the perfect fit for a trash the dress session at the sandbar. They love water and were great at being playful in front of the camera. They even brought out their own stand up surfboards for the trash the dress photos. The boards came in handy too as we trekked all of our gear out to this tiny strip of sand out in the ocean!
