Saying a big mahalo to all of our 2016 bride and grooms, engaged couples and families!
2016 has been a very eventful year for us. Our team grew by one little chubby, toothless future team member. With our world flipped upside down one thing remained a constant throughout the busy year. We had an amazing time celebrating our amazing bride and grooms’ wedding days. What else can we say but that we really have the best job in the world. We get to photograph and film the happiest most beautiful moments full of love, laughter and happy tears. Who ever said that when you do what you love you never work a day in your life might have been talking about us!
This beautiful bride had her dream wedding at one of our favorite Hawaii wedding venues on Oahu, Turtle Bay Resort! The bride wore a gorgeous lace destination wedding gown with a sweatheart neckline and mermaid train. Her look was accented with pearl jewelry and a pink flower in her hair. Here is a tip for those of you thinking of also wearing a flower in your hair for your Hawaii wedding: wear the flower on the left side of your hair rather than the right. In Hawaii this is a tradition that shows that you are not single. For all the single ladies, go ahead and wear the flower on the right side to let everyone know you are single and ready to mingle!
We are loving these cute wedding details for this pastel color schemed wedding. Chalkboard style place cards with arrow and heart design held in place by wine corks. The wedding reception centerpieces also incorporated the wedding corks as they filled the clear glass vases that held the white and light pink flowers. The oceanfront ceremony guest were greeted by this welcome table with a chalkboard sign that read “Don’t be Blinded by Our Love,” with sunglasses and fans available.
We have so many highlights from 2016 to share it’s hard to fit them all in! Here is a beautiful wedding venue in Maui, the Four Seasons in Wailea. This destination bride got ready with her bridesmaids and toasted champagne pool side as they finished up! When you start out the day like that, you know it’s going to be a great day! The Groom wore a cheeky pair of sandals that said “Game Over” on the soles to the lovely beach wedding ceremony. Scrabble pieces spelling out “LOVE” made a cute accent to their wedding ring photo. Their save the date and wedding invitation were so cute and creative with a travel theme. The save the dates even folded up into a paper airplane! Their reception table was accented by a beautiful teal blue satin runner with starfish details to complete the tropical Hawaii feel.
Isn’t this photo what dreams of a wedding in Hawaii are made of? Blue skies, warm breezes blowing through palm trees on a white sandy beach. Not to mention a wedding ceremony that binds you and your fiance together eternally. It doesn’t get more ideal than this!
Check out this cute personalized wedding detail used by our California destination wedding couple for their Waikiki beachfront wedding at Moana Surfrider. This creative couple had the cutest Disney wedding details with a mickey mouse silhouette wedding card box sign. Their wedding cake was topped with a gold Mickey and Minnie sharing a kiss with “Mr. & Mrs” and the date of the wedding in a heart.
Here are some more beautiful wedding photos from other wedding at Turtle Bay Resort. Parasols lined the center aisle while chairs were draped with leis for the guests. The wedding reception was held under a clear ceiling tent on the grass lawn where the tiki torches, balloons and paper lanterns decorated the space. Speaking of sweet, take a look at the photo of their wedding favors of jam jars with personalized labels that read “Jam packed with love” in burlap pouches that read “Love is sweet”. Too cute!
Is there anything more classic and classy than this stunning Tiffany & Company round solitaire diamond engagement ring? How unique and chic is this sheath wedding dress with sheer cutouts? This red wedding color scheme was seen in the bride’s lovely bouquet, flower crown, lipstick, nails, and shoes as well as the groom’s tie.
Another one of our favorite wedding venues on Oahu is Haiku Gardens at Haleiwa Joe’s in Kaneohe. This venue features an open air tahitian style chapel and multiple other garden ceremony venues. With a scenic shot in every direction, it’s not hard to see why so many couples choose this lush tropical site as their wedding venue. The closeup photo below of a bride holding her bouquet by her side captured the incredible fuchsia color flowers that had fallen from their tree and blanketed that area. Just stunning!
While we are lucky to photograph and film so many brides and grooms through out the year, we also love our family, pregnancy or maternity , and engagement photo sessions. It’s always so special for us to get to work with our former couples as they grow together from fiances, to spouses, and parents too! Big mahalo from our entire photo and video team for making 2016 a special year for us!
