There is no better combination for us than doing what we love and getting in the water!
We always love getting a chance to know our future bride and grooms better by first shooting their engagement session. Engagement sessions give the couples an opportunity to get used to being in front of the camera and get to know our team members before the wedding day.
This adventurous couple wanted to incorporate their love of the ocean in their photo session by doing some underwater photos. We were lucky to find an area that was fairly sheltered from the waves for this session and found some pretty clear blue water!
We love how the bride-to-be wore a colorful dress that really added a pop of color underwater. Our team had such a great time, we can’t wait until their wedding day!
L’Amour Photography’s work was featured tonight on VH1’s Wedding Wars premier! You may recognize contestants Mario and Melinda from our previous post of their fun engagement photo session in San Francisco. This gorgeous couple have been together for 12 years and are ready to do anything and everything humanly possible to win their ultimate wedding . Mario and Melinda are battling it out against 11 other couples on VH1’s new reality show to win their dream wedding. Wedding Wars was filmed here on Oahu at Turtle Bay Resort and as we all just learned on Wedding Wars Episode 1, these competitive couples started out their Hawaii get away in the private Ocean Villas. Unfortunately, their relaxing ocean front accommodations were swept out from under them as they headed off into the jungle to get better acquainted with the natural landscapes of Hawaii. Only grass huts, bugs, spiders, rain water, and rice & beans for the rest of the competition! We can already tell, things are about to get ugly. If you missed this episode, you can view it on VH1’s website here.

Ever since we adopted our 6 lb Miniature Dachshund, Sasha, we have been true “dog people.” We recently did an engagement session with the couple’s 85 lb German Sheppard and just had to share some of these images with you all. We had such a great time incorporating their dog with the engagement portraits on the beach at Waimanalo Beach and Sandy Beach on the West Side of Oahu Hawaii!
The last 13 days for us have been jam packed! Just the way we like it! We are extremely grateful for each of the awesome couples we have gotten to work with in the last two weeks. We have had the best time photographing and meeting each of these couples.
Seven weddings, one “post-wedding” session, one portrait session, one senior portrait and two days of the Wedding Expo. We have traveled around Oahu to beaches, hotels, resorts, cliffs, etc. In just the last two weeks we have photographed at the Westin Moana Surfrider in Honolulu, Waialae Beach Park, Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore, Kaka’ako Beach Park, Haiku Gardens and Haleiwa Joe’s Restaurant in Kaneohe, the Blowhole lookout point and Sandy Beach, Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Sheraton Waikiki, and Hilton Hawaiian Village. Wow, my fingers are tired now from all that typing!
Phew! No time for rest. We are flying out to California tomorrow to photograph a wedding in the Bay Area. We are so grateful to do what we love, work together, meet all of these great people, travel for work and visit our family and friends in California at the same time. LIFE IS GOOD !
Michelle and Wayne came all the way from Sin City Las Vegas, Nevada for their wedding at Hilton Hawaiian Village’s Crystal Chapel. Unfortunately we weren’t available to shoot their wedding, but we did get the opportunity to shoot their “post-wedding portraits”/”engagment photos.” Michelle and Wayne were so great to work with. We hiked around the Blowhole Lookout and Sandy Beach and got some really awesome shots. This may be one of our favorite ring photos we have ever done.
We wish you of happy years together! Best wishes from Eric and Wendy at L’amour Photography.

This engagement session was a blast. We went all over Honolulu to get some interesting backgrounds to showcase this couple’s love for each other. To get some shots with interesting architecture we took Marlissa and Daniel to some of the most distinctive buildings in Honolulu, including Honolulu Hale, ‘Iolani Palace, and Aloha Tower.
Introducing the future “Mr. and Mrs. Sin”!
As if there future married names weren’t awesome enough, this couple was so much fun to work with. Alanna and Stephen, hailing from Texas, wanted their engagement photos done during their vacation in Oahu. Eric and I took them to the 22-acre Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa in Honolulu to get a good variety of photos amongst the numerous backdrops including flamingos, penguins, waterfalls, amazing architecture, the beautiful Ocean Crystal Wedding Chapel, and the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon.
This newly engaged couple were up for anything we suggested for a good picture! Alanna and Stephen risked minor bodily harm as they whisked by each other on escalators, trying to kiss at the exact right time while trying to not smash their faces together. You would never know how difficult it really was judging by how effortless they made it look.
After a few hours of shooting, the four of us went down the beach for a few pina coladas and mai tais as the Hilton Hawaiian Village put on their weekly fireworks show. If that isn’t the perfect way to end a photo shoot, I don’t know what is!
We wish Alanna and Stephen the best as their weddings in Texas and Thailand approach!
