We are back to share more of what we have been up to in 2015. We have so many Hawaii weddings, engagement photo sessions, maternity photos and family portraits we want to share with you. Here are a few we hope put a smile on your face the same way it does for us. These wedding and portrait sessions took place at some of our favorite wedding venues and locations on Oahu as well as on neighboring Hawaiian islands of Maui and Kauai. These locations include Moana Surfrider Hotel, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Koolina Paradise Cove Crystal Chapel, Hale Koa Hotel, Turtle Bay Resort, St. Regis at Princeville and Tiki’s Grill and Bar Coconut Club. If you are planning a wedding in Hawaii and need suggestions or recommendations, we are always happy to help our clients using our 7 years of experience as Hawaii wedding photographers and videographers! To see more about our wedding packages, portrait packages and Add-ons, see our “Prices” page on our website!
We love capturing all of the little details that the bride and groom excitedly chose in the months leading up to their wedding. The perfect shoes to dance the night away. Gorgeous wedding bouquet with colors and textures that add to the overall look of the bride, bridesmaids, groom, groomsmen and centerpieces! The right amount of sparkly and sentimental jewelry to make the bride feel and look as special as she should on her wedding day. The wedding rings are always a fun item to photograph as they are so personal and will be with the couple for the rest of their lives as the symbol of their commitment to marriage. We can’t forget special moments like the one below of the cute little flower girl covering her eyes as the bride and groom had their first kiss during their ceremony at the Crystal Chapel in Koolina!
We suggest to our couples an engagement session if possible a few months before their big day. This gives the couples beautiful photos to include on their wedding website or on their save the dates! Aside from those great reasons, it give the future bride and groom an opportunity to test out how they feel in front of the camera and gives our photography team the ability to work with the couple before the wedding day. It is always great if the couple is already familiar with and comfortable with the Hawaii wedding photography and video team by the time the big day comes! It’s not everyday that two people are followed around by so many photographers and videographers, so this little “practice session” can really help with the jitters. We also can add-on a portrait session to any wedding package for an after wedding or “trash the dress” session. This can be great for couples who have a tight timeline on the wedding day and want more photos. An after wedding session can also be great because the stress and rush of the wedding day has passed and the bride and groom can really be themselves with no one waiting on them and no schedule to adhere to or aunties and uncles grabbing them for hugs all night long!
Our Photography and Video team focuses on weddings the majority of the year, but when we get a chance we like to photograph engaged couples visiting Hawaii for engagement session, or families who want to capture memories of their special trip to Hawaii. We are always excited to watch our couples grow from fiances to bride and groom and eventually contact us for maternity sessions and family. We hope you enjoyed these photos! We always have awesome brides and grooms as our clients. They are always so cheery and nice to work with, it really is always a pleasure. Caprice and Manny absolutely fall into that category. It was so much fun chatting about girly wedding stuff with Caprice before heading down to the chapel at Haiku Gardens. I LOVED her dress and was kicking myself for not choosing a dress like hers for our own wedding (coming up now in less than 3 weeks!!!). I love light and flowy wedding dresses like Caprice’s sheath dress. They are really the best of both worlds: beautiful and comfortable. However, since we are having a church ceremony back in California I chose to go with a more formal satin gown with a huge train (I love it, but I cannot say that it is going to be nearly as comfortable as a sheath dress. *sigh*)
Manny looked very sharp in his Marine dress blues. We did feel bad though because it was pretty warm that day. Oh, the things we do to look good. Side note: I think wedding days are quite possibly the only day that men will understand what we women go through and the uncomfortableness that comes hand in hand with looking good. We suffer with heavy corseted dresses and uncomfortable but really cute shoes while the grooms totally suffer through a sauna in their suits/tuxs. Sounds fair to me! But, I digress…once again…
We had a great time playing with some fun lighting amongst the bamboo and on the path around the pond. Manny and Caprice were whisked away to their reception in the Haiku Gardens Eco-cart complete with “Just Married sign!
Mucho Mahalo to Caprice, Manny and Family for a great wedding!
Jessica and Joshua were married in a beautiful ceremony at the chapel at Haiku Gardens in Kaneohe, Hawaii. These newlyweds were high school sweethearts and exchanged touching vows that chronicled their lives over the years.
We absolutely love doing engagement photo sessions and this couple are the perfect example why we do! We met up with Ann and Sam, who are both Army Emergency Room nurses, on the Northshore of Oahu at Sunset Beach to find the beach fairly empty and the waves with a high swell. This adventurous couple marched up and down the beach, braved the waves, and played on the reef. I got so wrapped up in taking pictures that I lost my sandals about half way through the shoot. We found one of them, but I think we sacrificed the other to the ocean. Ann and Sam were down to try anything for a great picture. We think their hard work paid off! Thank you Ann and Sam for a lovely day at sunset beach!

What better way to start the new year than to get married! Alicia and Lee were married at world renowned Lanikai Beach on December 31, 2008. Ranked amongst the best beaches in the world, Lanikai Beach was the perfect backdrop for Alicia and Lee’s wedding ceremony. Alicia and Lee were surrounded by their closest friends and family as they exchanged vows and rings.
I loved all of the sentimental details of this wedding! Alicia looked beautiful in her mother’s wedding dress and incorporated her support for the US Marines into the ceremony and reception. Her garter belt was in camouflage print with the Marine Corps symbol on a charm in the center. The favors were accented by photos of Alicia with Lee in uniform.
The beautiful, two tier, round fondant cake was made by Vikki at Sunshine’s Cake Creations. Eric and I never turn down cake at a wedding and are becoming some-what of wedding cake connoisseurs. This cake stands out in our minds as one of the best we have had so far. Perfectly decorated, sweet, creamy, and strawberries in the filling! Love it!
Congratulations to Alicia and Lee on their beautiful wedding and marriage! We wish them the very best!
