This bride and groom on Maui could not be any sweeter.
The gorgeous bride wore a light dress perfect for the heat of a destination wedding in Hawaii. The wedding gown had lace and beaded cap sleeves on a v-neck, empire waist gown with a completely lace back. The bride wore a scalloped necklace along with flowers accenting her soft up-do with loose side curls.
While the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready with hair and makeup and getting dressed they wore coordinating floral silk robes in white and light green. These stylish and smart ladies chose nude colored wedges for their wedding shoes. This is a great choice for a wedding at this venue in Maui since the grounds have gorgeous green expansive landscapes that can be difficult in high heels. These lucky bridesmaids learned the meaning of “something blue” in the form of Tiffany & Company gifts from the bride!
The ceremony decor included natural wood chairs that had a very organic feel along with a simple wedding arch accented by sheer white fabric and flowers. The chairs on the aisle side were donned with flowers in glass jars. The wedding reception tables had burlap runners with a center strip of white lace. Floral centerpieces were held in vintage style vases in clear, golds and peach colors. Instead of table numbers the bride and groom chose wood signs with the Hawaiian islands’ names. The card box was raw wood with the couple’s names personalized on the front. The Tiffany blue color scheme was tied in with the couple’s initials on the reception table next to the guest book.
We all know that photos are often “Photoshopped” to make the sunsets look more amazing than they really were. Thankfully in such a gorgeous wedding destination as Hawaii we don;t have to mess with what nature gives us. These colorful tropical plants and stunning sunset colors are 100% what the couple experienced that day. Perfect weather, loving bride and groom, lovely decor, flawless wedding coordination. What more could we ask for? And they call this “work!”

When the world gives you a gorgeous bright sunset in paradise and you have a lovely bride and groom basking in the love on their wedding day, you get a photo we just can’t keep to ourselves.
This stunning duo had a beach wedding ceremony with their closest loved ones followed by an intimate dinner reception at Sarento’s at the Top of the Ilikai in Waikiki. Sarento’s is steps off of Waikiki beach at the far end by Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Boat Harbor. Sitting on the top floor of the Ilikai Hotel, restaurant goers dine on Italian food while taking in the romantic ambiance and scenic ocean views. It’s no wonder this newly wed couple chose this intimate setting to celebrate with their guests.
What can I say. Our team has been pretty busy for such a long time, we have so many weddings to blog about! We are very excited to be back and blogging about our many wonderful couples’ weddings in Hawaii!
This featured wedding was a gorgeous tropical themed wedding with wedding colors of coral and teal held at the stunning West Oahu wedding venue of Lanikuhonua. Seahorses, starfish, shells, Hawaiian patterns and waves were used throughout the wedding invitations, ceremony chair decor, reception tables and centerpieces. We hope you all enjoy these gorgeous Oahu wedding details and the super cute bride and groom as much as we did!
While the bride and her bridesmaids got their hair and makeup done in their Waikiki hotel bridal suite, they wore matching floral robes. The ladies looked so lovely in their teal robes with the bride stood out in a matching robe in white. This Hawaii destination wedding bride wore a lace wedding gown with a sweet-heart neckline and embellished sash. The wedding gown was accessorized with exotic styled earnings and a bracelet with coral, red and blue stones to match her wedding theme colors. The groom wore a candy striped coral and white bow-tie with his black suit
This is the oceanfront Hawaii wedding venue Lanikuhonua found on the West coast of Oahu among the Ko’olina Lagoons. Musicians played and sang traditional Hawaiian music as the guests arrived and were seated. Guests were given woven fans to shade themselves during the ceremony. The Bride and Groom stood in front of their closest family and friends as they exchanged leis and their vows with the Pacific Ocean, palm trees and mountain range as a backdrop.
This Oahu wedding reception was adorned with coral and teal paper lanterns and strings of lights. Reception tables featured a real pineapple as the centerpiece, white gold plates as table numbers, as well as mason gars with shells and tea lights on burlap table runners. The bride and groom’s chairs had personalized wood signs hanging with “Mr” and “Mrs” written on them. Guests were greeted with seating cards of teal and coral wave shaped tags tied onto starfish. What a cute tropical wedding detail! The bride and groom gifted each guest with a mason jar of Hawaiian Res Alaea Salt as the wedding favor.
The newlyweds cut their single level square cake with the cutest cake set ever. The silver cake cutting set was stamped with their names and “Together Forever” and two forks were stamped with “I Do” and “Me Too.” All of these cute wedding decor details created a fun atmosphere that carried from the ceremony through the reception. This fun loving bunch danced the night away under the colorful paper lanterns and strings of lights and ended the night with a kiss and a dip!
Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore of Oahu is definitely one of our favorite Oahu wedding venues! This sunset wedding photo was take after this bride and groom’s wedding on the Kuilima Point lawn.
Turtle Bay Resort has also recently renovated their rooms, has a wonderful spa that is perfect for his and her massages, luxurious villas perfect for honeymooners, and pool with a twisting slide for those who love to live in the fast lane! We cant wait to share more of our Oahu wedding photos from this North Shore wedding venue.
We are happy to share part 2 of these Kauai wedding photos! Click here to see part 1 of this Hawaii wedding photography blog post. In our first post of this wedding we showed some of our favorite photos from this lovely bride and groom’s wedding rehearsal sunset dinner cruise of the Napali coast and all of the wedding preparations on the morning of this Hawaii destination wedding in Kauai.
The bridesmaids wore a light green knee length dress accented with a coral colored sash giving their look a classy yet tropical twist. The flower girls walked down the aisle holding poms of green orchids on a white satin string. This Hawaii wedding ceremony took place under the large trees on the edge of the beach fronting the St Regis. Lei of tropical flowers and crystal strands hung from the tree branches as the happy bride and groom exchanged vows beneath at the Kamani Cove.
Right after the beachfront wedding ceremony, we went around the gorgeous grounds of the St Regis to photograph the bride and grooms wedding portraits. We were struck by the many stunning locations and really loved the sparkling glass bulb chandelier of the lobby as well as the graphic decor in the front of the main entrance to this amazing resort.
Sunset was absolutely stunning on this Hawaii wedding day. The sun rays perfectly caught on the mountains across Hanalei Bay.
This Hawaii wedding reception was held in the St Regis Bay Terrace overlooking the sun setting over Hanalei Bay. This Hawaii wedding venue features a relaxing lounge area with an attached ballroom giving this venue indoor and outdoor versatility. The wedding reception carried the same classic beach theme with warm gold up-lighting sand filled centerpieces with large shells holding the tropical green and white flowers.
This beautiful bride changed into a knee length sparkling gold dress for her wedding reception. This dress was prefect for busting a move for their choreographed first dance. Not only was this bride and groom super sweet, but they also knew how to have a good time and let loose! Any bride who breaks out into doing the robot during her own wedding is a bride after my own heart!
Here we are with the gorgeous couple! We are extremely lucky and blessed to have such amazing people as our clients. After 5 years in business, based on Oahu, we continue to be amazed at how we always get to photograph such wonderful couples. Thanks for being AMAZING, everyone! Ps: As a side note, you might notice that we have changed our watermarking of photos recently. Don’t worry! We only are putting these watermarks on our blog posts. Our clients receive their printable, full size photos, free from any watermarks on their CD and with a much much less obtrusive watermark on their smaller, web-sized set of photos. Finally, we wanted to mention that Wendy (shown above with Eric) is only able to photograph weddings every once in a while when her carpal tunnel problems allow, and this was one of those rare occasions! She spends most of her days editing all of the Hawaii wedding photos and working on the flush-mount wedding album designs! Our absolutely talented L’amour team members photograph and film all of the rest of the weddings, day in and day out, through the years.
People often ask if we are available to photograph weddings on any of the Hawaiian islands. The answer is absolutely! As L’amour Photography and Video is an Oahu based wedding photography and video company we serve mainly Oahu wedding. So when we are asked to photograph weddings on Maui, Kauai, or the Big Island we are always excited to spread our wings and fly on over. This Kauai wedding was absolutely gorgeous. We loved so many of this bride and groom’s wedding photos that we decided to do two blogs articles about them! So here is part one! We hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed photographing them. PS. Did we mention that we love our jobs?
This lovely couple’s wedding rehearsal was held on a fun filled catamaran sunset dinner cruise. The bride and groom, along with all of their friends and family sailed along the NaPali Coast of Kauai while sipping cocktails and having dinner. We were lucky enough to get a gorgeous rainbow for a good amount of time. A pod of dolphins followed alongside the boat. This magical night ended with a great view of the Kauai sunset .
The setting for this Hawaii wedding was the Kauai wedding venue, the St. Regis Princeville. The St.Regis Princeville is located on the North Shore of Kauai overlooking the famous Hanalei Bay. Stepping into the lobby for the first time, guest are met with a mix of Hawaiian and sophisticated classic decor with wood accents and tropical flowers. The cascading glass bulb chandeliers are such a striking feature, we found ourselves admiring them more than just once. Conde Nast found was also rather impressed with this spectacular resort and listed the St. Regis on it’s 2011 Gold List among the world’s finest properties.
The bride started her Hawaii wedding day getting her hair and makeup done at the St. Regis’ Halele’a Spa then headed up to her bridal suite to slip on her lace and tulle wedding dress and sweet mint green wedding shoes.
Green and white orchids were accompanied by beautiful succulents in this tropical wedding bouquet with a modern twist. We loved the succulents so much and thought they would make a perfect backdrop for the wedding ring photos. The bridesmaids wore complimentary soft mint green sheath dresses with a coral colored sash.
The groom wore a navy blue suit with a coral colored tie that was patterned with tiny whales while the groomsmen wore light grey suits with mint green plaid ties. The men spent their down time relaxing in the St Regis Bar. I’m sure the bride and bridesmaid who spent hours getting ready were a little envious. Stay tuned for part two if this gorgeous Kauai wedding.
This couple traveled all the way from Canada to Hawaii for a little getaway and decided what better place is there than Hawaii to have an Engagement Session! We traveled up to the North Shore of Oahu during sunset to do this session. The day was pretty cloudy which made for some beautiful colors! But, don’t take my word for it, check them out below.
We hope you enjoyed these North Shore Oahu engagement portraits as much as we enjoyed working with this wonderful couple!
Simple. Laid-back. Beautiful. This Makapuu Point wedding was a complete reflection of their style. The couple was joined by only 10 close family and friends at the Makapuu lookout point. The sunset ceremony was simple and sweet with the minister reading Bible verses and offering the bride and groom communion. We loved how laid back this wedding was. The bride proved that you don’t need an elaborate wedding gown to be a beautiful bride. She looked stunning in a short white cotton eyelet dress with a satin sash. The groom wore a black and tan Hawaiian Aloha shirt with khaki shorts. I try really hard to not tear up at weddings, ESPECIALLY when I’m the photographer, but the bride and groom were so clearly emotional while exchanging their vows that it was hard not to tear up! Thank you for letting us be your wedding photographers at your intimate and touching ceremony! We wish you the very best!
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Davies!!!
Hannah and Andrew traveled half way around the world from Wales (in the United Kingdom) to Oahu for their beach wedding. Eric and I had a blast being their photographers on their big day. Not only were Hannah and Andrew a fun couple to work with, their wedding party was incredibly lively and hilarious. Eric and I kept thinking to ourselves, “Can you believe our lives? We are shooting a beautiful wedding in Hawaii and are surrounded by amazingly fun people. Life can’t get much better!”
Hannah and the girls got ready for the big day in a suite at the Moana Surfrider Hotel while Andrew and the boys were getting ready at the nearby Ohana East Hotel. Hannah and Andrew had a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Moana Surfrider Hotel on the Diamond Lawn. Their closest family and friends traveled from all over the UK and United States to watch Hannah and Andrew exchange vows and rings.
Hannah and Andrew were hoping for a bright and sunny wedding in Hawaii since they hadn’t seen a real summer back in Whales in the last 2 years! Hannah kept in good spirits in the face of a rainy forecast for her Hawaiian beach wedding. Her optimism, and all of us keeping our fingers crossed, must have paid off because there wasn’t a cloud in the sky during their ceremony.
Hannah and Andrew took a little road trip with Eric and I to Iroquois Point Beach where we photographed their wedding portraits at sunset. The newly overcast sky made for an awesome backdrop as the sun set.
Hannah and Andrew had an intimate reception in the Roof Garden on the 6th floor of the luxurious Moana Surfrider Hotel. Family and friends feasted on a delicious dinner and laughed and cried during the heartfelt speeches. And to top the night off, the whole wedding party sang Happy Birthday to Eric, whose birthday was fast approaching at midnight. Eric was so touched that the first people to wish him Happy Birthday this year were the happy wedding party! We could not have hoped for a better start to Eric’s birthday!
Thank you to Hannah and Andrew and their wonderful wedding party! It was our pleasure to be your wedding photographers!
