Gorgeous sunset wedding photo from Waikiki Beach – Daily Shot of Love

When the world gives you a gorgeous bright sunset in paradise and you have a lovely bride and groom basking in the love on their wedding day,  you get a photo we just can’t keep to ourselves.

Bride and Groom sunset photo on wedding in Waikiki Hawaii

This stunning duo had a beach wedding ceremony with their closest loved ones followed by an intimate dinner reception at Sarento’s at the Top of the Ilikai in Waikiki.  Sarento’s is steps off of Waikiki beach at the far end by Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Boat Harbor.  Sitting on the top floor of the Ilikai Hotel, restaurant goers dine on Italian food while taking in the romantic ambiance and scenic ocean views. It’s no wonder this newly wed couple chose this intimate setting to celebrate with their guests.

Gorgeous beachfront wedding at Turtle Bay Resort in Hawaii- Photography and video

This wedding has too much gorgeousness to show but we wanted to start off with the wedding video from this recent Turtle Bay resort wedding with photography and video by our team here at L’Amour.  Take a look at the video then please come back to this page to see some of the highlight photos too! CLICK the play button on the below video!

Stunning location, beaming bride and groom, lovely lavender and cream details all with a colorful sunset and beachfront reception under a clear tent with sparkling chandeliers! the bride wore a pale blush or pink colored wedding dress with a satin sash and sweatheart neckline accented by a veil with bead trim and pearl jewelry.  Did we mention those cream colored Badgley Mischka wedding shoes with crystal detailing on the back! The groom wore a light gray suit with a pale lavender or purple paisley tie and pocket square.

The cute little flower girls wore tulle dresses with shades of purple and helped carry this sign announcing “Here comes the love of your life” as the bride and her father prepared to walk down the isle of the Turtle Bay Resort Pavillion Chapel . From this beautiful open air wedding ceremony chapel you can hear the waves crashing on the rocks, spot surfers out on the waves, and witness one of the best views of sunsets on Oahu that you will find!  It’s no wonder why this is a popular location for Hawaii weddings and one of our favorite venues for our Hawaii wedding photography and video team.

A few days after this absolutely stunning destination wedding on Oahu we did a “Post wedding photo session” or “Trash the Dress” session on the North Shore of Oahu. These are really great opportunities to get more wedding portraits at various locations and under much less stress and hustle that happens on the day of the wedding ceremony and reception.  Our cute couple was able to get more wedding photos with the ability to sit and walk along the sand and get some photos with extra cute touches like the surf board. We hope you have liked these wedding photos and video as much as our photography and video team did capturing these moments! We seriously have the sweetest couples!

Here are a few we hope put a smile on your face the same way it does for us. These wedding and portrait sessions took place at some of our favorite wedding venues and locations on Oahu as well as on neighboring Hawaiian islands of Maui and Kauai. These locations include Moana Surfrider Hotel, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Koolina Paradise Cove Crystal Chapel, Hale Koa Hotel, Turtle Bay Resort, St. Regis at Princeville and Tiki’s Grill and Bar Coconut Club.  If you are planning a wedding in Hawaii and need suggestions or recommendations, we are always happy to help our clients using our 7 years of experience as Hawaii wedding photographers and videographers! To see more about our wedding packages, portrait packages and Add-ons, see our “Prices” page on our website!

We love capturing all of the little details that the bride and groom excitedly chose in the months leading up to their wedding. The perfect shoes to dance the night away. Gorgeous wedding bouquet with colors and textures that add to the overall look of the bride, bridesmaids, groom, groomsmen and centerpieces! The right amount of sparkly and sentimental jewelry to make the bride feel and look as special as she should on her wedding day.  The wedding rings are always a fun item to photograph as they are so personal and will be with the couple for the rest of their lives as the symbol of their commitment to marriage.  We can’t forget special moments like the one below of the cute little flower girl covering her eyes as the bride and groom had their first kiss during their ceremony at the Crystal Chapel in Koolina! We suggest to our couples an engagement session if possible a few months before their big day. This gives the couples beautiful photos to include on their wedding website or on their save the dates! Aside from those great reasons, it give the future bride and groom an opportunity to test out how they feel in front of the camera and gives our photography team the ability to work with the couple before the wedding day.  It is always great if the couple is already familiar with and comfortable with the Hawaii wedding photography and video team by the time the big day comes!  It’s not everyday that two people are followed around by so many photographers and videographers, so this little “practice session” can really help with the jitters.  We also can add-on a portrait session to any wedding package for an after wedding or “trash the dress” session. This can be great for couples who have a tight timeline on the wedding day and want more photos.  An after wedding session can also be great because the stress and rush of the wedding day has passed and the bride and groom can really be themselves with no one waiting on them and no schedule to adhere to or aunties and uncles grabbing them for hugs all night long!  Wedding portraits and engagement photos at the beach in Hawaii Best Hawaii wedding photo and video team L'Amour Photography Underwater photo of bride and groom after Hawaii wedding on Oahu by L'amour photography and video Hawaii maternity or hapai session on the north shore of Oahu maternity photo shoot on Hawaii by L'Amour destination weddings and family portraits at the beach in Hawaii Family portraits on Oahu Hawaii by L'Amour Photography and Video Family photos in Hawaii by Lamour at a beach with palm trees on Oahu cute kids at family portraits on the beach in Hawaii by L'Amour Family portraits on the beach on Oahu Hawaii with mother and daughter in white bohemian dresses Oahu Hawaii family portraits at the beach with sunset and palm trees

Our Photography and Video team focuses on weddings the majority of the year, but when we get a chance we like to photograph engaged couples visiting Hawaii for engagement session, or families who want to capture memories of their special trip to Hawaii.  We are always excited to watch our couples grow from fiances to bride and groom and eventually contact us for maternity sessions and family. We hope you enjoyed these photos! If you’d like to see more please check out our Facebook, Instagram, and YELP pages!

Hawaii Wedding Photographers – L’Amour’s Daily Shot of Love – Hawaiian Fairytale

When we think of a fairy tale wedding in Hawaii, this image definitely comes to mind.  Our recent bride wore a gorgeous wedding dress with a full flowy ballgown type skirt.  We chose this location with lush greenery and a thick bamboo forest for the newly married couple’s Day After Session aka Trash the Dress Session. But, don’t worry, that’s just a name, that dress was not damaged! We really are loving the lighting of this photo. The bride seems to be glowing among the darkness of the bamboo.  The bride’s floral headpiece also really adds to the ethereal and fairy tale feeling of this photo.   Hawaii Destination Wedding on Oahu with photo by L'Amour Photography and Video. By the way, Pocket Wizard Photo Accessories is holding a contest and this photo is in the running! Hawaii Wedding Photographers – L’Amour’s Daily Shot of Love – Sparkling Bride

We are totally loving this wedding photo from a recent Hawaii wedding we photographed here on Oahu. The bride was absolutely stunning in her wedding dress with the most dazzling collar.  Not only did this empire dress stun from the from but also from the back. Stay tuned to L’Amour’s Hawaii Wedding Photography and Video blog for more highlights from this wedding!  Bride in Sparkling wedding dress at her destination wedding on Oahu

Hawaii Wedding Photographers – Kauai Destination Wedding – part 2

We are happy to share part 2 of these Kauai wedding photos! Click here to see part 1 of this Hawaii wedding photography blog post.  In our first post of this wedding we showed some of our favorite photos from this lovely bride and groom’s wedding rehearsal sunset dinner cruise of the Napali coast and all of the wedding preparations on the morning of this Hawaii destination wedding in Kauai.

The bridesmaids wore a light green knee length dress accented with a coral colored sash giving their look a classy yet tropical twist.  The flower girls walked down the aisle holding poms of green orchids on a white satin string.  This Hawaii wedding ceremony took place under the large trees on the edge of the beach fronting the St Regis.  Lei of tropical flowers and crystal strands hung from the tree branches as the happy bride and groom exchanged vows beneath at the Kamani Cove.

St Regis Princeville Wedding in Kauai by Oahu Wedding Photographers 2

Right after the beachfront wedding ceremony, we went around the gorgeous grounds of the St Regis to photograph the bride and grooms wedding portraits.  We were struck by the many stunning locations and really loved the sparkling glass bulb chandelier of the lobby as well as the graphic decor in the front of the main entrance to this amazing resort.

Sunset was absolutely stunning on this Hawaii wedding day. The sun rays perfectly caught on the mountains across Hanalei Bay.

This Hawaii wedding reception was held in the  St Regis Bay Terrace overlooking the sun setting over Hanalei Bay. This Hawaii wedding venue features a relaxing lounge area with an attached ballroom giving this venue indoor and outdoor versatility. The wedding reception carried the same classic beach theme with warm gold up-lighting  sand filled centerpieces with large shells holding the tropical green and white flowers.

This beautiful bride changed into a knee length sparkling gold dress for her wedding reception. This dress was prefect for busting a move for their choreographed first dance.  Not only was this bride and groom super sweet, but they also knew how to have a good time and let loose!  Any bride who breaks out into doing the robot during her own wedding is a bride after my own heart!

Here we are with the gorgeous couple! We are extremely lucky and blessed to have such amazing people as our clients.  After 5 years in business, based on Oahu, we continue to be amazed at how we always get to photograph such wonderful couples. Thanks for being AMAZING, everyone!  Ps:  As a side note, you might notice that we have changed our watermarking of photos recently. Don’t worry! We only are putting these watermarks on our blog posts. Our clients receive their printable, full size photos, free from any watermarks on their CD and with a much much less obtrusive watermark on their smaller, web-sized set of photos.  Finally, we wanted to mention that Wendy (shown above with Eric) is only able to photograph weddings every once in a while when her carpal tunnel problems allow, and this was one of those rare occasions!  She spends most of her days editing all of the Hawaii wedding photos and working on the flush-mount wedding album designs!  Our absolutely talented L’amour team members photograph and film all of the rest of the weddings, day in and day out, through the years.

Wedding Cafe Honolulu – Workshop with Leading Oahu Florists

If you live in Oahu and have not been by the Wedding Cafe yet, you absolutely must! This dual purpose cafe combines yummy drinks and treats with a plethora of wedding planning resources. You can browse through tons of Bridal Magazines, local wedding photographer’s albums, venue information and more. Let me tell you, if I had been able to come to the Wedding Cafe early on in our wedding planning, it would have saved me tons of hours of searching for good magazines, books, and contacts.

Not only do they offer all of these resources, but they also offer weekly workshops on every aspect of wedding planning: Budget and time lines, hair and makeup, florists, photographers, etc. Eric and I rushed over from shooting the Special Olympics Punt Pass and Kick with the NFL Pro Bowl Players (including Eli & Peyton Manning!) to attend the workshop on Tabletop and Decor. The room was absolutely packed with soon-to-be brides and some soon-to-be hubbys too!

The professional panel gave advice on what to consider when picking out floral arrangements and decor. One of my favorite tips was to ask for organically grown flowers to accent the cake to prevent any pesticides from making their way onto your wedding cake!  Eric and I are always looking for “green wedding” tips and loved Debbie Hemingway’s suggestion to use live plants as centerpieces that can be planted after the wedding instead of just thrown out like other flowers.

So, in closing, as I pass out from a busy busy week…. Check out the Wedding Cafe at Ward Center and learn all about weddings and local resources. GI Joe put it best: “And knowing is half the battle!”
