Romantic Red and Gold Wedding with Pineapple Motifs at Kualoa Ranch on Oahu

There are very few places in the world as majestic as Kualoa Ranch on Oahu.  That is likely the reason that Kualoa Ranch has been the background for many movies and tv shows including Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates, Lost and Hawaii 5-0.  With the towering Koolau Mountains on one side and Molii fish pond and a open-air, covered venue, Molii Gardens offers a stunning wedding ceremony and reception site.  Our bride and groom had beautiful wedding with red and gold color scheme and pineapple motifs throughout. The bride wore a lace wedding gown with long sleeves and a deep v neckline and a long train. A red rose and orchid flower crown, or haku, added a lovely pop of color that accented her red lips. The red accents also complimented the grooms military dress uniform that was green with red.  Lace long sleeve wedding dress hang in a tree Bride in long lace wedding dress with long sleeves and deep cut poses for wedding photography Hawaii bride gets ready in her lace wedding dress with long sleeves Military wedding in Hawaii at Kualoa Ranch with Army soldier Kualoa Ranch bride wears a red flower crown or haku for her wedding on oahu There are many good reasons to do a first look before the wedding ceremony. It can help your timeline along with seeing each other first, then doing some portraits together as opposed to doing all of your portraits along with your family and wedding party between the ceremony and reception while all of your guest wait.  Another reason to have a first look is to get our some nervousness by seeing each other before walking down the aisle.  I’m a big ugly crier when I’m overcome with emotion, so I knew when I walked down the aisle it was going to be bad. I should have done a first look!  Along with these reasons, it’s a nice way to share some last minute thoughts and feelings together before they jump feet first into the most eventful day of their lives to that point. Wedding days go by so fast that it might be nice for couples to have a last moment of clarity together before the whirlwind.  But, many couples have thought about all that and just don’t want to see each other before the walk down the aisle. For those people this new trend of the first look without looking might be the right choice for them! This bride and groom met up before the ceremony without seeing each other to just share a sweet little moment together just holding hands.  bride and groom keep from looking at each other but hold hands before wedding ceremony in Hawaii First look on Oahu for wedding at Kualoa Ranch lovely lace wedding dress with long sleeves for wedding in Hawaii on Oahu Molii Gardens wedding ceremony where a bride walks down the long staircase to her ceremony Hawaii wedding ceremony with flower lei and coconuts for Kualoa Ranch wedding on Oahu The ceremony site, down the stairs along the pond at Molii Gardens had a wood trellis draped with sheer white fabric and adorned with red flowers and lots of greenery.  The wedding ceremony involved a few nice traditions including the exchange of lei and the washing of hands.

Kualoa Ranch Wedding at Moli’i Gardens on Oahu

We have seen many beautiful wedding color schemes, but this one was something new and exciting to us.  Purple, gold and black were offset delicate centerpieces and decor.  This outdoor Hawaii wedding ceremony took place along the edge of the water at Kualoa Ranch’s Moli’i Gardens. The sign featured an open area reception site with a large lawn next to a long staircase that leads down to the pond.

From this beautiful open air wedding ceremony chapel you can hear the waves crashing on the rocks, spot surfers out on the waves, and witness one of the best views of sunsets on Oahu that you will find!  It’s no wonder why this is a popular location for Hawaii weddings and one of our favorite venues for our Hawaii wedding photography and video team.

A few days after this absolutely stunning destination wedding on Oahu we did a “Post wedding photo session” or “Trash the Dress” session on the North Shore of Oahu. These are really great opportunities to get more wedding portraits at various locations and under much less stress and hustle that happens on the day of the wedding ceremony and reception.  Our cute couple was able to get more wedding photos with the ability to sit and walk along the sand and get some photos with extra cute touches like the surf board. We hope you have liked these wedding photos and video as much as our photography and video team did capturing these moments! We seriously have the sweetest couples!

These wedding and portrait sessions took place at some of our favorite wedding venues and locations on Oahu as well as on neighboring Hawaiian islands of Maui and Kauai. We love capturing all of the little details that the bride and groom excitedly chose in the months leading up to their wedding. The perfect shoes to dance the night away. Gorgeous wedding bouquet with colors and textures that add to the overall look of the bride, bridesmaids, groom, groomsmen and centerpieces! The right amount of sparkly and sentimental jewelry to make the bride feel and look as special as she should on her wedding day.  The wedding rings are always a fun item to photograph as they are so personal and will be with the couple for the rest of their lives as the symbol of their commitment to marriage.  We can’t forget special moments like the one below of the cute little flower girl covering her eyes as the bride and groom had their first kiss during their ceremony at the Crystal Chapel in Koolina! We suggest to our couples an engagement session if possible a few months before their big day. This gives the couples beautiful photos to include on their wedding website or on their save the dates! Aside from those great reasons, it give the future bride and groom an opportunity to test out how they feel in front of the camera and gives our photography team the ability to work with the couple before the wedding day.  It is always great if the couple is already familiar with and comfortable with the Hawaii wedding photography and video team by the time the big day comes!  It’s not everyday that two people are followed around by so many photographers and videographers, so this little “practice session” can really help with the jitters.  We also can add-on a portrait session to any wedding package for an after wedding or “trash the dress” session. This can be great for couples who have a tight timeline on the wedding day and want more photos.  An after wedding session can also be great because the stress and rush of the wedding day has passed and the bride and groom can really be themselves with no one waiting on them and no schedule to adhere to or aunties and uncles grabbing them for hugs all night long!  Wedding portraits and engagement photos at the beach in Hawaii Best Hawaii wedding photo and video team L'Amour Photography Underwater photo of bride and groom after Hawaii wedding on Oahu by L'amour photography and video Hawaii maternity or hapai session on the north shore of Oahu maternity photo shoot on Hawaii by L'Amour destination weddings and family portraits at the beach in Hawaii Family portraits on Oahu Hawaii by L'Amour Photography and Video Family photos in Hawaii by Lamour at a beach with palm trees on Oahu cute kids at family portraits on the beach in Hawaii by L'Amour Family portraits on the beach on Oahu Hawaii with mother and daughter in white bohemian dresses Oahu Hawaii family portraits at the beach with sunset and palm trees

Our Photography and Video team focuses on weddings the majority of the year, but when we get a chance we like to photograph engaged couples visiting Hawaii for engagement session, or families who want to capture memories of their special trip to Hawaii.  We are always excited to watch our couples grow from fiances to bride and groom and eventually contact us for maternity sessions and family. We hope you enjoyed these photos! If you’d like to see more please check out our Facebook, Instagram, and YELP pages!

Hawaii wedding Bride and Grooms incorporate cultural traditions to their destination weddings!

When I saw the gorgeous mehndi painted hands of our bride, I was so excited to photograph them!  We love how our wedding couples have found ways to bring their cultural or religious traditions all the way out to Hawaii with them and allow us to capture the diversity of how love is celebrated all over the world. We have so many photos of these beautiful traditions that I cant wait to share with you! Here is one that I just am in awe of.  What a beautiful way to start a new life together, in these lovely hands.

L’amour Photography & Video’s Eric and Wendy share their vow renewal

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we would like to share with you our very own personal photos from L’Amour Photography and Video owner and photographers, Eric and Wendy’s vow renewal. For this special day, we hired our team of photographers and videographers to capture our intimate ceremony at Bayer Estate on Oahu.  Some of our favorite Hawaii wedding vendors made this day everything we wanted it to be. Makeup and hair was done by the very talented Heather Heen of Delish Makeup with our ceremony performed by Kahu Wendell Silva.  Wendy’s bouquet and floral headpiece, called a haku in Hawaiian, as well as all of the lovely flower arrangements, props and decor was by Debbie Hemingway of Designs by Hemingway.  And of course, the most peaceful wedding venue on Oahu, the only place we would want to host our intimate ceremony, Bayer Estate.

The simple yet whimsical backdrop of the wedding ceremony was designed using blue, teal and cream colored fabric strip ribbons which swayed in the wind as we renewed our vows. A vintage distressed blue and white painted door added a nice touch to the ceremony site.  After our intimate ceremony, we headed to the beach in front of Bayer Estate to lounge and enjoy some champagne. This cute scene is from Designs by Hemingway and featured multiple textures to create a luxurious yet, beachy feel.  Eric Mansperger and Wendy Leslie of Lamour Photography share photos from Wedding in Hawaii Hawaii beach wedding decor at Bayer Estate by Designs by Hemingway Hawaii Bride and Groom on beach on Oahu at Bayer Estate 5 Lamour photography shares photos of photographers Eric and Wendy beach wedding 20 14

Oahu wedding Photography in Hawaii by L'Amour Photography and Video

I can’t even put into words how sweet this couple is. The couple came together in the hallway of their  Oahu wedding venue to share their love letters before the ceremony.  There was no peeking during this time, but the bride and groom held hands the whole time, shed tears and laughter, and took the last few moments together before they made that walk down the aisle to make it official! Stay posted for more to come from this beachfront wedding on Oahu.

The Big Island has so much natural beauty to offer it’s visitors with the volcanoes, lava fields, snow capped mountains, gorgeous snorkeling, and black sand beaches.  But one of the other major draws to the Big Island is the Iron Man World Championships bringing together some of the best athletes in the world.  Eric recently traveled out to the Big Island to photograph this stunning couple during the frenzy of the Iron Man competition week.  It was definitely an experience Eric wont forget! Congratulations to our lovely couple!

Hawaii Wedding Photographers – L’Amour’s Daily Shot of Love – Hawaiian Fairytale

When we think of a fairy tale wedding in Hawaii, this image definitely comes to mind.  Our recent bride wore a gorgeous wedding dress with a full flowy ballgown type skirt.  We chose this location with lush greenery and a thick bamboo forest for the newly married couple’s Day After Session aka Trash the Dress Session. But, don’t worry, that’s just a name, that dress was not damaged! We really are loving the lighting of this photo. The bride seems to be glowing among the darkness of the bamboo.  The bride’s floral headpiece also really adds to the ethereal and fairy tale feeling of this photo.   Hawaii Destination Wedding on Oahu with photo by L'Amour Photography and Video.
